OPITO Basic H₂S training content covers the actions to take in the event of an alarm, common definitions, detection, measuring, personal protective equipment and its use, as well as emergency response duties.

This course is designed for personnel who may be exposed to H₂S. It educates them on the specific hazards and properties of H₂S, and the appropriate emergency response actions to take in the event of a H₂S related incident.

OPITO Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) with Sea Survival course covers check-in, safety briefing, and what to do in the event of a helicopter emergency, including sea survival techniques. 

The course is for personnel who may be travelling over water. It provides delegates with the knowledge and skills necessary to react to and survive a helicopter ditching, and to be able to care for themselves in a sea survival situation.

All personnel designated as Heli – deck team members on offshore installations, including helideck checks, loading and unloading of passengers and cargo, may be required to carry out emergency duties if necessary.

This course trains personnel to assist the HLO on the helideck, and handle any helicopter fire, taking responsibility and command of Helicopter Fire Fighting & Rescue Operations.

The aim of this course is to provide offshore personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for themselves and others in sea survival situations for an indefinite period of time, and to participate to the maximum extent in their own rescue. It teaches them the proper use of available emergency equipment relevant for the vessel/ platform.
